The subway network in Oslo currently has a signal and interlocking system which is from the 1960s for some areas. In addition there is a higher demand for the subway, providing a need to increase the capacity.
It is initiated work, to see the introduction of a new signaling system for the entire grid. It is developed an environmental impact assessment (KVU) that will provide guidance for further work. KVU has concluded with a recommendation to acquire a new system based on CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) technology.
On behalf of Ruter AS, has Rytec together with our subcontractor TÜV Rheinland GmbH carried out quality assurance of the impact assessment of solutions, for a new signal system for the subway in Oslo. Rytec has together with the subcontractor had responsibility for technical evaluation of the various concepts. This assignment was led by Metier AS.
