Technical advice Fornebu line

The Fornebu line is a planned underground track from Majorstuen to Fornebu center. This connection connects Fornebu in Bærum to the subway network in Oslo, Norway, via Lysaker and Skøyen to Majorstuen.

The Fornebu line is divided into two parcels. Parcel 1 is from Fornebu to Lysaker (the city of Bærum) and parcel 2 from Lysaker to Majorstuen (the city of Oslo). The route is planned inside a tunnel for the entire stretch (about 8 km long) and has 6 new stations.

The regulation plan for parcel 1 was passed by Bærum council in June 2015, with the exception of Lysaker station. The regulation plan for parcel 2 is still under development.

Rytec was engaged by Sporveien Oslo to assist in this following areas:

Coordination of internal input on technical reports from the regulation plan work.
Input to the use of BIM (Building Information Modeling).
Drawing up proposals for a tunnel manual, including input on method of tunnel construction with tunnel boring machines (TBM).
Arranging "fact finding" meetings with other organizations (Bane NOR and Crossrail in London).
Reviewing the specific design requirements, in preparation for the next phase of the project.

Sporveien have expressed a desire to create new guidelines for all new subway tunnels in Oslo and Akershus. Rytec has made the structure for such a design manual, and made a basic foundation for content based on current guidelines and "best-practice".
